Fabrication Spatiale de Treillis pour Grandes Antennes

Technical analysis and engineering reference.

1. Escaping Launch Vehicle Fairing Dimensional Limits

The primary constraint on space telescopes, persistent solar power collectors, and radar apertures is rocket fairing geometry. A standard 5-meter launcher fairing cannot accommodate a 30-meter continuous parabolic reflector or a 100-meter baseline interferometry truss. In-Space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing (ISAM) circumvents this ceiling by launching high-density raw materials and fabricating structures directly in vacuum.

2. Electron-Beam Freeform Fabrication (EBF3)

In the hard vacuum of space, electron-beam welding operates with exceptional purity without inert shielding gas: - Metal wire (titanium or aluminum-lithium alloy) fed directly into an electron-beam melt pool. - Layer-by-layer deposition constructing structural nodes and stiffener ribs. - Optical pyrometry monitoring cooling rates in microgravity to ensure fine-grain metallographic crystalline structure.

3. High-Bandwidth Telemetry and Tele-Inspection

Fabrication progress is continuously monitored by robotic inspection arms transmitting multispectral thermal and eddy-current non-destructive testing (NDT) scans across the ISAMNet network, validating structural integrity before deployment.
